Dobbiamo purtroppo comunicare che il Prof. Umberto Ruggiero è mancato.
L'Associazione Termotecnica Italiana si stringe attorno alla famiglia per la grave perdita dello straordinario uomo ed illustre Professore, figura importante per lo sviluppo delle politiche energetiche a partire dal dopoguerra.
Cavaliere della Repubblica Italiana (1969) conferito dall'allora Presidente, Giuseppe Saragat a Commendatore della Repubblica (2023), attribuito dal Presidente in carica, Sergio Mattarella. Il prof. Umberto Ruggiero è stato un vero monumento e pioniere dell'ingegneria meccanica in Puglia.
Presidente onorario dell'Associazione Termotecnica Italiana, autore di 90 memorie scientifiche, 3 libri e due brevetti.
L'ultimo saluto avrà luogo il 17 maggio alle ore 16:00 presso l'Aula Magna "Attilio Alto" del Politecnico di Bari.
